Outdoor Gardening Inspiration

I don't know about any of you here in the Northeast, but I am ready for the warm weather to kick in, get my hands into mother earth...and start watching the bulbs bloom, tree's flower...and get to playing!
For the longest time, I have wanted begged for a terrarium or cottage shed  made out of these... which I am sure any of you flea market junkies run into all the time..and ooh..ahh..and wonder what to do with them all!

Well, I know that I wanted something made out of them for the garden.  So thanks to Sarah and her Inspiration linky...she got my Mother Earth and Junking mode going!
So, my imagination started on the small scale...

I mean, how hard could this be..and just how cute!!!
Or even one of these to keep dried herbs, old bottles, bulbs etc in....
Then my brain started to go into a little overdrive.. Of course I would need more room..so perhaps a small
gardening shed...

Come on, we all know we have a collection of flea market finds...EVERYWHERE!  And what is a
cottage shed without some decor?
Old wrought iron...and my fav...MILK GLASS!!!

Old galvanized buckets with vintage fabrics and herbs..

Now the brain is thinking...INDOOR!  How could we forget? And what do I have hidden in the basement, garage, attic?

Needless to say, by now I am ready to hire a contractor.. go to the nursery and then hit every yard sale,
flea market etc this weekend..and then pray to the God's the Spring to hit!
Then maybe, I could end up with something like this!
Well?
Wouldn't you?

I am linking up with Sarah's Inspiration
Go take a gander and see what INSPIRES you!

xoxo

  2. Yes!!!!I think we are definitely on the same page. I had to go back and look a 4th time :) Aside, from the obvious... I love the little details. That bucket with the vintage cloth and soap is too cute! I've seen those old iron beds used for flower beds. Mmmm! Hope your dreams of a garden shed come to fruition! xox

  19. What a cool set of inspiration images you've collected. A couple of these are already in my inspiration file, from when I was designing my greenhouse made from old windows. At this point, the greenhouse is framed and being used, but it's covered in plastic instead of windows because I ran out of season and I needed to put the roses inside more than I needed to finish it with windows. (sigh) I already have all the windows, and they're marked as to exactly where they go on the frame. My plan this year, for this third year with the greenhouse, is to finally get the windows in place and have the wonderful salvage folly in reality that I can see in my imagination.

If you don't have the windows you need, keep an eye on Craig's List. That's where mine came from, and I still see listings all the time for giving away old windows that have been replaced. Most of the ones that are 1960s vintage are usually still in good shape, some homeowner has just been convinced to get rid of them ... and they're fairly standard sizes so you can amass a pile of windows and come up with a really pleasing arrangement.

Perhaps THIS is the year when MY greenhouse will finally get its windows! I hope that you get to build yours, too.
